A dear friend of mine, Ms. Lollipop, was very gracious and recently brought over a container of goodness to me. What was it you say? Truffle salt!! I've had truffle oil before and it was just okay. Nothing crazy. I've had actually truffles on food before and that was good. But the true truffle flavor was always masked a little by the entire dish. So I decided to go a little truffle crazy but the affordable way. And it all starts with this delicious Dean & Deluca black truffle salt. And a couple of slices of toast. Okay, a lot of slices of toast. And some white truffle butter. Creamy, fatty goodness. And I made this a meal. Yes, bread, butter, and salt. I gobbled everything up. It was rich, creamy, earthy and all things truffle. Super thirsty yet satisfied at the end. I would definitely do this again. Ah, the simple pleasures in life.
